ITAPA (Information Technologies and Public Administration) has been the leading event in Slovakia and the Central European region in the field of digital economy and society for 16 years already.

ITAPA events can be divided into the Spring conference specialized more on local topics depending on the current situation in the region (lasts for 1 day) and an Autumn international Congress.

The ITAPA events are held annually under the auspices of top government representatives and brings its participants a carefully prepared agenda of the highest quality. Since its inception, the most relevant IT business companies in Slovakia have been its key partners.

The ITAPA International Congress is a two-day international congress hosted in Bratislava. It focuses on promotion of the latest eGovernment trends and solutions in Slovakia and around the world. The Congress gives all the key stakeholders from political and professional life the opportunity to get together and discuss the most important issues of Slovak eGovernment. In addition, many international insights are brought into the scene.

The ITAPA is an independent platform for presenting innovative projects and best practices, discussing hot open topics and problematic areas, as well as bringing in inspiring ideas. This fact also attracts participants and representatives from the NGO sector, consulting firms, academic fields, etc. in addition to IT companies, politicians and key eGov officials.
 
The number of ITAPA visitors is approx. 600 each year. Nearly 100 speakers from the whole world join more than 10 ITAPA panel sessions, dozens of keynotes and open discussions.

In previous years, the following countries and international institutions actively participated in the ITAPA International Congress: 
Armenia, Austria, Canada, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Macedonia, Peru, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, the USA, the European Commission, NATO, OECD, the UN and the World Bank.

The ITAPA Distinction Awards is an integral part of the ITAPA Congress. In this well recognized annual competition, awards are granted for the best implemented eGovernment projects and solutions in Slovakia.
The ITAPA Distinction Awards ceremony takes place every year at the ITAPA Gala Dinner with the participation of the congress visitors and invited VIP guests.
