Technological advances have brought tremendous gains in terms of productivity and quality of life, but they also have potential security implications. How do we mitigate the risks and possible negative side effects of technology, while preserving its benefits and enabling further innovation? And how can we foster a more effective, multilateral response to these emerging opportunities and challenges? Slovakia, in its role as Chairmanship of the OSCE this year, is encouraging discussion and cooperation on these issues, with a view to ensuring a safer future for all our people.

Lukáš Parízek
Lukáš Parízek was appointed State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic in March 2016. He studied International Relations at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in the Russian Federation. After completing his studies he completed an internship at the Transnational Threat Department at the Secretariat of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna, Austria. From 2013 to 2015 he worked at the Defense Policy Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic. Prior to his appointment, he worked at the Department of Communication and International Cooperation of the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency.
