A successful European Public Private Partnership on Electronic Components and Systems
The ECSEL Joint Undertaking - the Public-Private Partnership for Electronic Components and Systems – funds Research, Development and Innovation projects for world-class expertise in these key enabling technologies, essential for Europe's competitive leadership in the era of the digital economy. Through the ECSEL JU, the European industry, SMEs and Research and Technology Organizations are supported and co-financed by 30 ECSEL Participating States and the European Union. ECSEL JU launches annual Calls for Proposals for research, development and innovation projects. The presentation will review its structure, mandate, activities and results together with a sneak preview on the future.

Daniel Donoval
Prof. Daniel Donoval is a full professor and director of the Institute of Electronics and Photonics at Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, STU Bratislava. He is involved in advanced semiconductor structures, devices and systems supported by modeling and simulation, mostly for the automotive and sustainable energy market. He is the Slovak representative in Public Authorities Board and Governing Board of ECSEL JU in Brussels. He coordinated many R&D projects supported by national and international agencies. Luciano Gaudio
Born in Reggio di Calabria (Italy) in 1972, he is a lawyer specialized in international relations and institutional communication. He graduated in Law at the University of Parma and got a Master's Degree in International Relations at the University of Bologna. Until 2010 he worked as Political Advisor in the European Parliament, contributing to the elaboration of several legal texts in the research sector. Until 2015 he worked for the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking, as Stakeholders Relationships Manager. Since 2016 he has been responsible for relations with the European Institutions (Parliament, Commission and Council, etc.) for the ECSEL JU.
