How can EU regulation threaten SK innovation

The European Union provides countries like Slovakia with a huge opportunity to expand into the single market. It is therefore in our interest to remove internal barriers in this area, to which harmonization of legislation and regulation at European level contributes. However, this process also has its negatives, which may weaken the stronger competitive environment of the entire bloc compared to leaders in digitization or innovation in the United States or East Asia. The European Union must be aware of these processes and work to make its own business environment more efficient. This presentation highlights key aspects of how unnecessary negative impacts on innovation can occur through European regulation.

Michal Kardoš has been working since 2020 as an executive director in SAPIE - the Slovak Alliance for Innovative Economics. He has more than 10 years of experience working for business, public administration, NGOs, but also from his own business.
