Dr. Safaa Karaki Aldwaik is currently the Director of the GIS and IT Department at Ramallah Municipality, and the City Chief of Data Officer. She holds two masters' degrees and a PhD in GIS, Remote Sensing and Sustainability Science from Clark University in Massachusetts, USA. Aldwaik has published several peer review journals, and won several awards, including the Special Achievement in GIS Award from ESRI. In addition to her academic achievements, Aldwaik has established the first GIS Municipal System in Palestine.
