He is the current Minister of Defense of the Slovak Republic. He studied international relations and diplomacy at the Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica between 1998 and 2003, in 2004 he received the title of PhDr. Subsequently, in 2005 he studied at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies.

He is currently the ambassador of the Slovak Republic to NATO, in the past he was an adviser to the president for foreign policy, defense and security. He has been professionally engaged in foreign, international and security policy for almost 20 years. He worked as an expert, advisor and diplomat at the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Permanent Delegation of the Slovak Republic to NATO.
