Dr. Andrej Veľas graduated doctoral studies Security magement study program at Univerzity of Zilina, Faculty of Security engineering in 2005. He worked since 2005 as assistant professor in the Department of Security Management. He works from the year 2013 as associate professor, from the 2023 as full professor and head of the Department of Security Management, Faculty of Security engineering Univerzity of Zilina.
