How to Overcome Digital Divide for Broadband Internet Access in Slovakia?
Broadband internet access is one of the key priorities of European Union. According to the latest survey, Slovakia is still behind regarding the broadband internet penetration, in particular in rural regions. One of the main reasons is the availability of broadband technologies that is mostly limited to bigger cities and its surroundings. This gap is the reason for the entry of new technologies onto the European markets. ASTRA provides satellite access to internet and enables internet connection to a cutting-edge technology to every household – it eliminates so called „white zones“ as the satellite service is available everywhere. The topic of barriers and opportunities for broadband innovations will be presented by Leszek Bujak, ASTRA CEE.
