Carl Dahlman, a Colombian national, is Program Manager, Knowledge for Development at the World Bank Institute. This program provides training for policy makers in developing countries to help them develop strategies to make more effective use of knowledge for their countries’ development. The program also provides policy services for developing country governments. Mr. Dahlman was Staff Director of the 1998/99 World Development Report on Knowledge for Development. Prior to that he was the Bank’s Resident Representative in Mexico for three years.
