József Györkös
József Györkös (SI) state secretary at the Ministry of Information Society in the Republic of Slovenia (since 2001) with an important background in computer science and informatics (including postdoctoral experience at some European universities).
He is a full professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Science at the University of Maribor, Slovenia where he headed the Laboratory for Computer Aided Communication (1993 - 2001) and where he served a term as a member of the Board of Directors of the university. His bibliography contains notable publications in international journals and books.
Until 2001 he represented Slovenia in a technical group of the IFIP TC6: Communication Systems Association. He has also participated in applied research projects.
Initially he worked in the area of databases and systems software, later on he turned his attention to the field of quality control in the development of information systems and other applications for some larger companies and leading institutions. He holds a PhD.
