Manfred Mayer
As of June 2001 until present, Dr. Manfred Mayer (* June 8, 1950) holds the position as Director of the Office for Legal Issues in the Information- and Telecommunication Sector and eGovernment in the Bavarian State Chancellery. He oversees the Bavarian eGovernment initiative, the operational level of the IT-consolidation projects as well as the cooperations with foreign states in the field of eGovernment.
Following law school and graduation from the Max-Planck-Institute for Intellectual Property and Competition Law with an Ph.D. in patent law, Dr. Manfred Mayer worked from 1977 to 1988 as a judge with the trial county court of Munich and as a public prosecutor with the district attorney’s office. Moreover, from 1983 to 1996 he was in charge of the Data Processing Unit at the Higher Regional Court of Munich. From 1990 to 1996, he was appointed a judge at the Higher Regional Court of Munich. As of 1997 Dr. Mayer has accepted a position as adjunct professor for technology law at the Military University of Munich. During the technology-initiative
„BavariaOnline“ he was responsible for the task force „Bavarian Authority Network“. From 1996 until June 2001, he held a position as Director of Information- and Tele-communication-Technology and Organization in the Bavarian State Chancellery.
