Following from the presentation given in Keynote 2, this presentation will focus on the use of information and communications technologies (including telecommunications) within the Government of Canada. The panelist will describe the layers of the common infrastructure in the government system. He will then summarize the underlying principles for the management and development of the common infrastructure, including user cooperation, procurement, standardization and privacy. Emphasis will be on the unique mechanisms that have been adopted based upon practical experience and best practice.
