Key Performance Indicators and MIS - basis for the efficient healthcare management
1. BASIC GOAL OF THE MIS
Basic goal of the MIS as the managerial information presentation tool as well as the branch performance management system is to develop available IS tools and to support processes to move from statistics monitoring to performance management and to continual healthcare branch performance improvement linked to defined goals and strategies of the branch.
2. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Key Performance Indicators will create unified data basis to monitor performance of the branch in all areas of management – citizens’ health, health care, financing, and human resources; and will create the tool to compare performance to planned or estimated values or data of the previous time periods, enabling support for the decisions and measures transparency in the health branch.
Key goal is to ensure pragmatic cooperation with branch and external organizations in collecting, processing and mainly presenting data from different administrative resources in integrated information – presentation system.
3. REASONS FOR THE PROJECT REALIZATION
eHealth project and consolidated branch data basis will bring a lot of new information from the healthcare provision system, based on which the process for planning, managing, monitoring, controlling and assessing measures, activities and programs related to citizens health and government health policy will be much more efficient and in higher quality. In order to achieve these goals it is important for the healthcare branch to create modern managerial information system processing flexible the huge amount of the available information and clearly providing to all levels of the branch management, supporting decisions processes having global character from the community point of view.
