Mike Summers
Mike has responsibility for the worldwide sales and marketing efforts of Everyone Counts, a leading global provider of e-democracy solution and services. For over 8 years Mike has been helping governments modernize their election process through the use of technology. Prior to joining Everyone Counts, Mike held several senior sales positions with multi-national corporations. For 4 years, Mike led the EMEA sales and operations for Election Systems & Software (ES&S), the world’s largest elections technology provider and was responsible for the delivery of many election ‘breakthrough’ projects globally. Mike was responsible for assisting the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MOMRA) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia modernizing their voter registration processes by deploying a countrywide voter registration database. Mike has helped national and local governments to introduce electronic voting in the UK, Spain, Portugal and France. Mike brings a wealth of experience in customer relationship management and partner management, and an unrivalled desire to proactively solve election problems for customers, to deliver sustainable long-term value, customer satisfaction and to build long-term relationships. Mike has a Doctorate degree from the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom.

Electronic voting in the Cloud - Myth or Reality?
With more governments seeking to modernize and streamline the democratic process, e-Democracy services are becoming increasingly commonplace in e-Government strategies. Electronic voting (e-Voting) is often seen as a solution to reducing falling levels of election participation, offering a secure engagement platform for overseas voters, and a way of empowering voters with disabilities privately and independently. The presentation explores the reality of delivering e-Voting services in the cloud and addresses the issue of how to leverage the benefits of a cloud based deployment, whilst tackling the challenges of ensuring privacy and security of sensitive data.
