Data Collection, Analysis and Evaluation in National Health Information Center (NHIC)
National Health Information Center has been running Information System of Health Indicators since 2006 which was developed and delivered by Softec, spol. s r. o. The system provides an automated support for basic processes such as: survey proposal, data collection and processing. The paper form of data collection has been replaced by the electronic web form and by the web services data interface for automated data collection. The system supports not only processing of statistical data but also processes of National Administrative Registries like National Registry of Health Care Providers and National Registry of Health Manpower and processes of some National Health Registries like National Cerebrovaskular Registry and National Cardiovascular Registry. Processes of other health registries also have been progressively supported.
In 2012 the system was extended with reporting module which enables the effective creation of multidimensional cubes, multidimensional data analysis and dynamic reports in the form of tables, charts and maps and displays them by the web browser. The module enables to display data that are stored in the NHIC's data store, interconnect them mutually and connect them with data from other sources (e.g. data received from Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic, Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic, etc.). Prepared reports are usable for data publishing and also as a feedback for health care providers who regularly send input data into the information system.
