Effective management using Business Intelligence tools
„Data warehouse“, „business intelligence“, or „management information systems“are not only a fashion vocabulary, but also a subject of frequent criticism regarding appraisal of return on investment from the related solutions. Our presentation will introduce one of the successful projects - Data warehouse and BI tools at Regional Office in Vysočina that has been used by managers and analysts from Regional Office since the beginning of October. In the presentation we will introduce the Data Warehouse and also the data themselves that are being consolidated and concentrated, divided by origin (Office data, data from contributory organizations like hospitals and data coming from external sources like Statistical Office of Czech Republic, data from central registries) and divided by agenda (economic and budget information, health care, land register, educational system, transport system..). Moreover, we will introduce the output from these data and Unique User Interface in the form of tables, graphic data or maps that creates a valuable information basis and platform for delivering answers and testing assumptions regarding relationship management in between Citizens and the State.

Jaroslav Gašinec graduated from Faculty of Management Science and Informatics of University of Žilina in 1998 and from British Open University in 2007, where he gained a Professional Diploma in Management. He began his professional career in 1998 as an analyst for ASSET. As his career advanced through several development and management positions, he became responsible for realization of various projects in the field of data warehousing and business intelligence for financial institutions, health care and public sector.
