  • eHealth is Coming: How to Handle Rollout?
The mission of eHealth is to promote the role of healthcare through use of information and communication technologies, to help to enhance healthcare and in this way also quality of life. Slovakia is already on the way to fulfill this goal. It has identified the key applications such as electronic healthcare card, electronic prescription, medication, National Health Portal and e-Allocation. It has built information and security infrastructure and optimized data base to electronic healthcare needs. The attention is currently on cross-sectional topic of patient and healthcare professionals’ identification and promotion of legislation changes in healthcare system.

Arrangements for nation-wide dissemination of National Healthcare Information System to environment of its future users, participants of healthcare provision and funding, are currently under way. The key moments are to provide distinct identification of a patient as well as healthcare profession and to implement dissemination of the system with minimal risk. The extent and complexity of the system is way above activities implemented so far in the environment of Slovak healthcare. Domain knowledge, experience, ability to predict and act quickly will be the important success factors.

In the past Atos has faced these challenges when implementing similar projects abroad. In the presentation we will provide information how we successfully handled akin projects in Austria, France and Scotland.
  • Digital education for vocational schools
Why should you not miss this lecture?
In Slovakia, the dual education system has been launched; it is based on the combination of theoretical education at schools and the practical education in an employer’s premises. Would you like to know, whether and to what extent the information technologies can help change the alarming situation in the secondary vocational education in Slovakia, where currently only about 6 percent out of 60 thousand graduates find jobs? Achievement of such a demanding objective requires the approach that would interconnect the knowledge obtained at school and the knowledge obtained from the employer, forming thus a single interface.

The Atos company has created the portal through which students from the selected study branches access the newest and most up-to-date information. They can access as much as 1,450 lectures, read 3,900 pages of texts, watch 6,060 minutes of videos, and listen to 24,200 minutes of educational texts. The portal is available via computers and tablets and the education thus acquires a brand new dimension. To launch such portal, it requires active participation of all stakeholders.  In the presentation, Oskar Kadlec from the Atos company and Vojtech Andor from the  Auto-Impex company describe how the information technologies help implement this strategic transition.

  • What makes digital education really innovative
    Summary:
Digital education is not just impressive visuals, top class tools, compatibility with latest standards and adaptive design. It is also innovative as it brings opportunities to all participants of the education eco-system – in our case it is the Slovak system of professional education. The goal of this innovation is to help the teacher to make the class more interesting, to help the employee define skills he expects from students of professional high schools and to help the students increase their chances at job market. Requests of all involved parties incorporated into the education content will help to support fundamental change in professional education.
