Jacek Murawski

Jacek Murawski heads up the award-winning Cisco Networking Academy Program® in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). His main responsibility is working with governments, NGOs and educational institutions in more than 100 countries to deliver the web-based curriculum to more than 3,000 academic institutions. The programme teaches over 150,000 students in EMEA how to design, build and maintain computer networks – an essential skill in the Information Society. In addition, Jacek is also responsible for building partnerships with international aid organisations to promote the use of the Internet to help close the digital divide in less developed parts of the region.

Jacek joined Cisco in January 1997 as Country Manager for Poland; he soon progressed to General Manager for Central Europe in charge of Cisco’s operations in Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia and Yugoslavia. He moved to his current role in 2003.

Prior to Cisco, Jacek worked for a US database company Informix Software, where he was responsible for building the company’s business in Eastern Europe and then became Managing Director of Informix Russia. His career began in 1988 at German-based IT distribution company Soft-tronik where he occupied a number of sales and marketing roles before being promoted to Sales Director International in charge of all markets outside Germany.

Jacek speaks Polish, English, German and Russian. He was educated at the Technical Universities in Warsaw and Berlin (West) and at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. He now lives in Brussels with his wife and son.
