Ivan Korčok
He graduated from the University of Economics in Bratislava and completed postgraduate studies at the Institute of International Relations of Comenius University in Bratislava. Since 1992, he has been working in the Slovak diplomacy department, having held various positions in Bratislava and abroad. At the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he held the positions of spokesman for the ministry, director of the planning and analysis department, director general of the section of international organizations and security policy, and twice state secretary. During his postings abroad, he worked as a diplomat at the Slovak embassies in Bonn, Bern, Brussels (Deputy Head of the Slovak Mission to NATO) and later as the Slovak Ambassador to Germany, the Permanent Representative to the EU in Brussels and the Slovak Ambassador to the USA. In the years 2002 - 2003 he was the head of the Slovak delegation for accession negotiations to NATO and in the years 2003 - 2004 a member of the Convention on the Future of the EU. During the preparation and performance of the Slovak Presidency of the Council of the EU, he served as the Plenipotentiary of the Government of the Slovak Republic to the Slovak Presidency and as the Delegated Minister in the European Parliament. He has been the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic since April 2020.
