He has broad experience within the European institutions and the Slovak diplomatic service .
He had been working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (i.e. as Head of Office of the Chief Negotiator for EU accession) as well as in the team of the former High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana. After joining the European Commission in 2007 he was Head of Unit for enlargement at the Directory General for Agriculture and Rural Development. Since January 2012 he leads the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia.

Peter Pellegrini
Peter Pellegrini is the current President of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. He first held this position between 2014 and 2016. In the past, he has also served as Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Minister of Education, Deputy Prime Minister for Investment and Informatisation and as State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance. In addition, he was elected six times as a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, the first time in 2006.
