Katarína Mandíková

Katarína Mandiková is the current director of Project Management Department at the Slovak Ministry of Transport, Posts and Telecommunications, which is part of Information society development section. She is the top project manager of the National Project “Education of public administration employees focused on obtaining digital literacy and preparation for ECDL certification by means of electronic education.”
She and her team coordinate nearly 1,000 projects on the subject of increasing digital literacy of citizens and creation of digital content on internet.
She worked at the Slovak Education Ministry before transfer of competencies in the information society development field and worked on the Infovek project there. She is one of the founder members of the Association of Infovek Project, she is the vice-president of the association now. She deals with projects which are oriented on increasing information literacy of wide groups of citizens.
  • ECDL Project for Public Administration

    The national project “Education of public administration employees focused on obtaining digital literacy and preparation for ECDL certification by means of electronic education” starts from the need of transfer to knowledge-based phase of civilization development. Knowledge should be considered the main value of each organization. Information technologies are the basic means of creating and maintaining “knowledge-based infrastructure” of organization in case of much information required and its relatively frequent change. Employees have to be trained and being trained in this field, in order to use information correctly. Employer has to be able and to have possibility to test their knowledge by unique certified way, in order to be sure that money invested into IT and education were spent correctly and is used efficiently. That is why this national project, financed from ESF, was launched in 2006 and 41,000 state employees should undergo the project by 2008, when the project ends.
