Jean-pierre Nordvik
Jean-Pierre Nordvik has a M.Sc degree in electro-mechanical engineering from the “Université Libre de Bruxelles”, Belgium. He has been working since 1989 for the European Commission. He is currently Head of the Cyber and Digital Citizens’ Security Unit within the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission. His Unit carries out research on how emerging Information and Communication Technologies impact citizens' daily life. Jean-Pierre works on risk mitigation, cyber security, cybercrime, data protection, privacy, and on the associated legal and regulatory frameworks. Over the past few years, his interest has focused on the security and data protection of connected and automated cars, and on digital identities, distributed ledgers, internet-of-things and support to law-enforcers in their fight against cybercrimes.
