If we want to implement Smart City solutions in Slovakia - we need inevitably a farsighted view and a new approach in the development of municipalities, cities and regions, their management and planning that use innovationand as well as a new approach by the state, companies and the academic community. In this regard, the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic prepared the first document of its kind in Slovakia "Supporting Innovative Solutions in Slovak Towns". The Ministry has also developed a financial scheme that will support pilot testing of innovative solutions in practice directly in the city. At the same time, we are preparing the Smart City Portal, which will provide the most information about the project and at the same time serve as an inspiration by providing practical results of the project implementation.

Miriam Letašiová, Director General of the Business Environment and Innovation Section of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, is responsible for the smart industry agenda, better regulation and measures to improve the business environment. She also covers the Smart Cities agenda and is convinced that a better life in our cities will be achieved through a change of thinking and a common dialogue.
