Ján Bačko

Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for Investments and Informatization

Ján Bačko has more than 20 years of experience in the IT sector in the areas of project management of public administration, banking, telecommunication and utility information systems. During his professional career, he held several professional and managerial positions in the field of ICT, particularly in the private sphere, mainly in the field of project management. He received several certifications in IT project management and IT support and operations (ITIL, Prince 2 and IPMA A).

Currently, he has been working for more than a year in the State Administration at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for Investment and Informatization, where he holds the position of the Director of IT Projects Management Department. As the Director, he is responsible for managing all IT projects, both internal and external, within the scope of the Office throughout the whole life cycle.

  • Modern Slovakia- what has been done in 2019

    The main priority of informatization is to bring improvements to systems and services in which the state has invested considerable funds in the past so that it not only returns the costs incurred by the state but also saves as much money and time on people as possible. The vision of a "friendly state to citizens", projects and activities in the area of "one time enough" that should bring informatization closer to people. What was achieved after a year? Where do we need to invest in increased efforts? What is the vision of egovernment development for the next period?

    In 2017, the first practical implementation of the principle defined in the NKIVS (National concept of public administration informatization), under the title "One Time and Enough", was launched. The Act on Certain Measures for Reducing Administrative Burdens by Using Public Administration Information Systems and amendments and extensions of some other laws (like Anti-Bureaucracy Act) No. 177/2018 ", which regulates more than 160 other enactments, so that starting on 1. January 2019, the citizens no longer have to carry the extracts from the Office of the Trade, Trade Register, and the extracts from the Letter of Ownership. As from 1 January 2019, the criminal record certificate of natural persons will be abolished as well. How the implementation and support from the adoption of the law is getting along so far and what are the next steps for achieving the "one time and enough" principle, will be shown in our presentation.
