Opportunities and challenges for digital transformation from the OSCE perspective
We are all aware that the challenges and opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution are not easy to balance. The impact on economic security could potentially be disruptive if the technological change does not deliver on its promises. We cannot afford the digital gap to become yet another dividing line in the current regional and global scenario. New technologies can help changing perspective, generating hope, connecting us, and triggering a new story about how we want to live. The closer we co-operate, the bigger difference we can make. The OSCE can be a platform for embracing technological change and steering it toward a future that reflects common objectives and values of the participating States.

Ambassador Vuk Žugić, Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities is a career diplomat with a notable international experience in various high level positions. Before joining the OSCE Secretariat, he acted as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Serbia to the OSCE and other International Organizations in Vienna (2012-2017). He also served as Chairperson of the OSCE Permanent Council during Serbia’s OSCE Chairmanship in 2015. Prior to that assignment, between 2004 and 2009, he was Ambassador of Serbia to the Republic of India.
