Smart Slovakia as part of Smart Visegrad

Bratislava, November 9, 2018: Top event of digitization and public administration in Slovakia, ITAPA 2018 International Congress has also become an official event of the Slovak Presidency 2018/2019 in the Visegrad Group. This unique event, taking place November 13.-14. at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Bratislava, offers a platform where Visegrad Four countries will exchange proven methods and share digitization experiences.

In the beginning of first day of the congress key representatives of digitization in V4 countries will present their perspective of society digitization as well as common themes. Slovakia will be represented by Richard Raši, Deputy Prime Minister for Investments and Informatization of the Slovak Republic. Wanda Buk – Undersecretary of State from Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs, your lawyer and informatization expert, will tell us why V4 countries need to unite and collaborate in data economy, if they want to boost their economic growth. Czech Republic will be represented by Vladimír Dzurilla, Government Plenipotentiary for IT and graduate of Slovak University of Technology, with experience in IT implementation of big IT systems and introduction of organization and process changes. In his role he is responsible for development of strategic concept Digital Czech Republic that he will discuss in his presentation. Ferenc Vágujhelyi, Chairman of the National Council for Telecommunications and Information Technology, will present Hungary.

 „Smart“ is the buzzword of today. At ITAPA: Hacking the Future Slovak and European representatives of municipalities and experts that will on Tuesday, November 13 talk in the panel Smart Cities Workshop about Smart projects that already make everyday life easier and more comfortable whether we are talking about transport in cities or life in the rural areas. The workshop will also discuss guidelines for improved regional strategies and policies.

Cyber security is one of the relevant topics of modern Europe. Cyber threats are no longer important for IT specialists only, but they concern every citizen. Part of EU Cybersecurity strategy is the NIS Directive aimed at enhancement of cybersecurity across the EU. The NIS Directive was adopted in 2016 and subsequently it started to be adopted by member countries into national legislation. During second day of the congress, November 14, we will discuss in the session V4 Cyber Security how was the Directive adopted in V4 countries, in terms of national capabilities, cross-border collaboration and national supervision of critical sectors.
