Štěpán Štarha specializes in information systems and telecommunications law, intellectual and industrial property law, data protection, contract law, and private international law. His primary focus is on the legal aspects of creating and using copyrighted works, implementing information systems, and licensing software. He is also actively involved in lecturing on these topics.

In the field of intellectual and industrial property law, he focuses on technology transfer, including technology transfer in science and research, as well as trademark and industrial design protection.
