Andrej Juris
He will head the Office for Regulation of Network Industries from July 2020. His working vision is of an effective communicating state regulator that ensures fair prices, the protection of energy poor and vulnerable consumers and the development of innovation and competition in energy solutions. He brings to the state regulator many years of work experience from the European energy space and the private and public spheres - including as Chairman of the Board of Directors of West Slovak Distribution Company, Vice President of NERA, a consulting company in the USA, and as a consultant to the World Bank, where he worked on analysis and policy development in the area of regulation and liberalisation of network industries. He is a graduate of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava, Princeton University in the USA, and Jacobs University in Germany. He considers the systemic and transparent exercise of regulation, the promotion of competition in emerging energy markets, and the integration of innovative solutions into the regulatory system as the right way forward, as a basic necessity for the development of the network industries in the Slovak Republic.
