Branislav Ondruš

Mgr. Branislav Ondruš is the State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic from November 1, 2023.

He is a graduate of the Comenius University in Bratislava, where he received a master's degree in political science. He also studied European political systems at England's Thames Valley University. He started his professional career in 1996 at Markíza TV, where he worked as a TV news presenter, economic editor and commentator. He later worked as an editor and presenter of news at TV JOJ from 2002 to 2008. Subsequently, he spent two years in the position of director of the press and information department of the Government Office of the Slovak Republic. Between 2010 and 2012, he was a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic and held the position of vice-chairman of the NR SR Committee for Social Affairs and member of the NR SR Committee for European Affairs. After the 2012 elections, he was appointed as the State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family. In May 2020, he became the chairman of the Alliance for Social Economy in Slovakia, and from 2021 he worked as an adviser to the Delegation of the European Union in the Republic of North Macedonia.
