Erika Jurinová

Žilina self-governing region

Erika Jurinová was born in 1971. After studying in the Czech Republic, she taught at a secondary school, later she started working in regional media. After seven years, she started to get involved in politics in an effort to contribute to positive change in Slovakia. Since 2010 she has been a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. She dealt with social and human rights issues, later also as the chairwoman of the Committee for Human Rights and National Minorities and as the vice-chairwoman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. In 2017, after being elected President of the Žilina Self-Governing Region, she resigned as a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic and is fully investing in the future and successful development of the Žilina Region.
