Františka Hrubá
A graduate of Comenius University in Bratislava, she graduated in 1985 at Mathematical-Physical Faculty in the specialization of Theoretical Cybernetics and Mathematical Informatics. She attended courses of epidemiology and epidemiological statistics, risk analysis, GIS, public health based on proofs. In 2004 she finished predoctoral studies at University of Trnava, FVZ and SP, specializing in public health care, in the field of GIS use and spatial analyses to set risks of affection.
Since 1989 she has been working at Regional Office of Public Health with its registered office in Banská Bystrica, since 1991 she has been leading Dept. of Informatics and Health Statistics. Besides establishment and IT support at the Office, since 1991 she has been dealing with the creation and development of All-Slovak Information System of Infectious Diseases.
Since 1991 she has been cooperating also in international projects in the field of analysis of health risks, design and statistical analyses of epidemiological studies and GIS use in public health. She was involved in 10 WHO and EU projects, she managed 2 projects cooperating with US EPA and Washington University. As IT consultant she worked in PHARE project in Romania. In 2005-2006 she managed sub-project of software development for epidemiological information system within PHARE project for strengthening of surveillance of infectious disease in the Slovak Republic. She currently cooperates in other 3 international epidemiological studies.
In 2007 she was assigned as a member of the working group of European Centre for Disease, Prevention and Control (ECDC) for surveillance systems and the chief expert of the Chief Hygienic Officer for Informatics and Statistics in Public Health.
