He currently works as a docent and head of the Institute of Medical Informatics and Simulator Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the UPJŠ in Košice. He is also the chairman of the Academic Senate of the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine in Košice. Jaroslav Majerník's professional and research areas of interest are oriented towards biomedical engineering, medical informatics and electronic education support. He is the author and co-author of 12 book publications and more than 250 professional and scientific papers, which have been cited more than 250 times. He participated in the solution of 43 research projects, including 15 international and EU grants in the field of education, biomechanics and informatics. He is a member of ESMAC, the MEFANET Coordination Council, ISACA, the editorial board of the MEFANET Journal, the editorial board of the Multimedia Technology magazine, and the editorial board of the Portal of Multimedia Support for the Teaching of Clinical and Health Departments of UPJŠ LF.
