Krzysztof Szubert
Graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Industrial Organization and Management, specialization in industrial IT systems (Master of Science). He has held managerial posts in both polish and foreign enterprises in the ICT industry for more than twenty years.
Polish entrepreneur, since 1998 he has held the post of President of the Management Board and Chief Operations Officer at CONNECT DISTRIBUTION, which specializes within CEE region in value added distribution of specialist software - the company has won numerous prizes including the European Medal, Business Gazelle, Forbes Diamonds, award of the Minister of Economy and title of Ambassador of the Polish Economy 2016.
He has been actively involved in the ICT industry and environment for a dozen or so years. Author of many articles and commentaries in the daily press, specialist press and television. He was nominated for the title of “Personality of the IT” for his contribution to the IT industry.
Since 2012 Minister of Digitization, the BCC Economy Shadow Cabinet. Initiator and Chairperson of the Coalition for the Development of the Information Society (KRESI) - a platform for dialogue and the cooperation of the most important environments and organizations related to the communications and IT industry in order to accelerate the development of the information society in Poland. In 2015 awarded “Polish ICT - Man of the Year ” prize given annually by the Burda-Magazine / CRN. United Nations IGF MAG Member.
In the years 2015-2016 member of the Digitization Council at the Ministry for Digital Affairs. Since the end of 2015, Strategic Advisor to the Minister (Ministry of Digital Affairs), from May 2016 Plenipotentiary of Minister for International Affairs.
Since March 2017, Secretary of State / Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs, responsible for international affairs and The Government Plenipotentiary for Digital Single Market.
Hobby : diver (PADI DiveMaster) and sailor (YachtMaster). Married, two children.

Opening Speech: Poland
In his presentation Minister Szubert will focus on conclusions of the Digital Summit (reiterated by the European Council), as well as on Poland’s priorities for DSM (the free flow of data, the telecommunications package) and more specifically on data economy. The Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs has recently commissioned a study on “Data utilization intensity and economic performance – a diagnostic analysis”. Mr. Szubert would like to share the results of this study, which prove that there is real opportunity for V4 countries to increase their growth by increasing their use of data. In this light, he will advocate for close cooperation on digitalisation in V4 by among others referring to the Warsaw declaration signed during the Polish V4 Presidency. Finally, Minister Szubert will to talk about his role as DSM Plenipotentiary and the establishment of a mechanism of cooperation between national administrative entities involved in the implementation of the DSM strategy.
