SAZP, specialist for NIPI and INSPIRE
After graduating from the Technical University in Zvolen, he worked in unincorporated association Združenie Slatinka (Slatinka Association), Správa NAPANT (Administration of the Low Tatras National Park) in GIS and geology department, in company Geodis Slovakia in the position of dealer of measurement devices for construction and geodesy and since August 2009, he has been working in the Slovak Environmental Agency as a specialist of INSPIRE and National Infrastructure for Spatial Information, within which he works in the position of INSPIRE National Contact Point, INSPIRE Committee Member, deputy chairman of the Coordination Council for National Infrastructure for Spatial Information and leader of the group of experts of National Infrastructure for Spatial Information. Since January 2011, he has been a director of the Center for Environmental Policy and Informatics of the Slovak Environmental Agency.
  • National Spatial Data Infrastructure in Slovakia: State of play, outcomes and challenges
    Process of INSPIRE legislation development is about to be fulfilled, what will generate new requirements and challenges for involved stakeholders. Development of spatial data infrastructure on national level (NSDI) in Slovakia reflects this momentum taking into the consideration national specific circumstances. Technical conditions together with making available harmonised and interoperable data content will  allows the Member States  to create the environment, allowing utilization of geographical information systems. This will be connected with reduction of costs related to software and hardware and improvement for effectivity and quality of related services. This presentation will provide an overview of current status with summary of achieved outcomes and outlook for activities and challenges potentially influencing on further NSDI development, implementation and maintenance.  
  • National Infrastructure for spatial information - 2011 milestones
    Developing of national infrastructure for spatial information (NISPI) in 2011 brought improvements on the coordination and implementation of several key services at national level. Ministry of Environment (MoE) as a central coordinator fulfilled the tasks of monitoring NISPI for the European Commission for 2010, implemented required services for discovering and viewing spatial data. MoE is finishing with the legislative process to the executive regulation to the Act. 3/2010 on the NISPI and preparing the first meeting of the Coordinating Council and the Expert Group on NISPI. The presentation will also outline the major tasks for 2012.
