Internet of Things for Smart Cities
Smart City initiatives have become major topic on the hundreds of the conferences and feasibilities studies over the past years. Smart City is a buzzword, under which one can imagine anything from intelligent parking, air quality/pollution measurements or elderly care, long-term patients to measurements of trash-cans. Despite the fact that this topic is being repeatedly used over time, there are no clear steps leading to deployment of the actual projects.
Available infrastructure is the first are foremost item /besides the financials/ required for successful deployment of any Smart City projects. Our actual Sigfox network coverage is almost 90% of the population in Slovakia. First step to Smart City deployment is available network infrastructure and data collection from the sensors, so later on these data can be evaluated and implement actual steps leading to improvement of city life quality. By using Sigfox network, numerous Smart city projects and initiatives can start being deployed right now. Let's work together to make year 2018 year of pilot projects and first project rollouts. -
