Matej Poliaček
Matej works as a member of the air traffic team of the International Space Station, specifically the European module Columbus, at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The scope of his work is to monitor and control the Columbus module and ensure the smooth running of research and work of astronauts on board the station. Prior to that, he worked in Slovakia in the field of robotics, artificial intelligence, and nanosatellites. He completed the Young Graduate Trainee program at the European Space Agency's (ESA) ESTEC technical center. He is also a co-founder of the GroundCom startup, which is dedicated to providing infrastructure for satellite communications and which is incubated by ESA. In addition to his work, he is independently engaged in research in the field of manned spaceflight and system studies of the concepts of habitation of the Moon, Mars and Venus.
