Matej Škorvánek
Matej Škorvánek works as a university professor and head of the Center for Extrapyramidal Diseases at the Neurological Clinic of the LF UPJŠ and UNLP in Košice. Currently, he is the scientific secretary and treasurer of the Slovak Neurological Society and the chairman of its Extrapyramidal Section. He is also active in the international professional field, where, in addition to being a member of several working groups and commissions of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) and the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), he currently heads the MDS Scientific Evaluation Committee and in 2021-2023 chaired the European Educational the MDS commission. For his activities, he received several domestic and international awards, including the Prize for Personality of Science and Technology under 35 (2018) and the SLS Guoth Prize (2018), in 2015 he received the MDS young leaders in movement disorders international award.
