Matej Tóth
A native of Nitra, who lives in Banská Bystrica, where he works in the Dukla Military Sports Center. He has been involved in sports all his life, in addition to which he studied journalism at UKF in Nitra, where he also met his wife Lenka, with whom they are raising two daughters. Matej has been pursuing a professional sports career for 26 years and has brought to Slovakia the most valuable thing that could be gained in athletics. He won a gold medal at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The year before, he became the first Slovak world champion in athletics. He won silver at the European Championships in Berlin, and according to him it is the most valuable medal for him, because he hides the most hard work, pain and uncertainty behind it. In addition to his professional sports career, Matej founded his academy in 2016, which was attended by more than 7,000 children. This year he ended his professional sports career and from November 1, 2021 he took up the position of director of VŠC Dukla.
