Support of renewable energy sources in SMEs: Green for enterprises
The Slovak economy has one of the highest energy demands in the European Union, which is mainly due to the high share of industry, which is the largest energy consumer in the Slovak Republic. This situation can be solved by decentralizing production and supporting renewable energy sources. Due to the successful implementation of national projects implemented in the form of vouchers, the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency has decided to implement a new pilot project Green Enterprises as part of the Slovakia Program.
The national project Green by Enterprise is aimed at supporting the use of renewable energy sources in enterprises based on active consumers of electricity, self-consumers of energy from renewable energy sources and communities producing energy from renewable energy sources.
Its goal is to increase the share of use of renewable energy sources in micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (and thereby increase the share of energy from renewable sources in gross final energy consumption) and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Thanks to the contribution, it will be possible to implement technologies that will contribute to energy saving, emission reduction and waste minimization.
Key aspects of the project will be presented in the presentation, including:
• Project goals: motivation and need for greening of businesses.
• Eligible beneficiaries: types of businesses that can apply for support.
• Supported measures: use of renewable resources, energy audits.
• Financing: terms and amount, intensity of financial support.
• Expected impacts: planned fulfillment of measurable indicators
The aim of the presentation is to provide a clear overview of how businesses can contribute to sustainability and at the same time gain support for improving their environmental footprint.
