Michal Géci
Michal Géci studied International Relations at the University of Bologna and holds an MBA from the Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, where he also worked as a researcher for several years. He has worked for more than 20 years in senior positions in the field of digital transformation. He was a senior manager at Capgemini, a global consulting group, where he was involved in the implementation of complex IT and strategic transformation projects in sectors such as energy, telecommunications, financial services, public sector and others in the CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) region. Subsequently, he has led strategic transformation initiatives in the services sector of leading multinational companies such as Alcatel-Lucent and Philips in the CEE region, serving as an expert in technology transfer and innovation management in Europe and Asia. In recent years, he has been supporting start-ups in the field of social innovation and blockchain technologies in Slovakia, co-founded the Slovak Impact Hub and for several years led the innovation division for the Slovak-Swiss company Decent. He also worked briefly as an advisor to the Minister of Finance, the President of the Slovak Financial Administration, and was a member of the expert panel at EUBOF (The European Union Blockchain Observatory and Forum), a think-tank set up by the European Commission in the field of distributed ledger technology (DLT) and blockchain. In the state administration, he worked in executive positions at the Office of the Government of the Slovak Republic, the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, where he was involved in the implementation of the Recovery Plan of the Slovak Republic. He is currently the Senior Director of the ICT Department at Slovak Electricity Transmission System, Plc. (SEPS).

Entry on the topic of blockchain
Recovering from a global pandemic can be radically helped by innovative technologies, such as blockchain or DLT (distributed recording technology). The short presentation will present the individual applications of these technologies aimed at solving the post-covid-19 crisis, which have been deployed around the world and which could be an interesting inspiration for Slovakia as well.
