MUDr. Mgr. Michal Palkovič, PhD., MHA, MPH has been acting as the chairman of the Office for Health Care Supervision (ÚDZS) since February 2024. From May to October 2023, he was the Minister of Health in the caretaker government. Before that, he worked at ÚDZS since 2005 in various positions. From a doctor performing autopsies, he became the deputy head doctor, later the head doctor of the pathological-anatomical workplaces in Bratislava. From 2012, with a short break until 2022, he was the director of the Section of Forensic Medicine and Pathological Anatomy of the ÚDZS. From 2022 to 2023, he was the deputy chairwoman of the ÚDZS.
Since 1999, he has been working as a university teacher at the Institute of Pathological Anatomy LFUK and UN in Bratislava and since 2010 at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava.
