  • Paas (Platform as a service) for the Ministry of the Interior - its benefits for OVM and IS suppliers
The subject of the project was the creation of a new layer of "Platform as a Service" services in the MVSR government cloud. As part of the delivered work, a native PaaS platform and platform services, Licensing PaaS automation and services, DevOps tools, Components, Backup services and pay per use Licenses were created for the purpose of verifying the functionality of the Licensing PaaS automation.

The result of the project is a significant contribution to the digitalization of Slovak e-government.

  • Hybrid native PaaS platform

Hybrid native PaaS platform makes it possible to develop, test, deploy and run applications faster and easier. It represents the cloud platform and services created on the IaaS public cloud platform. In line with the Government Cloud's strategic priority, which also envisages the implementation of a hybrid cloud environment, the process of entering the PaaS platform and platform services into the government cloud services catalog is currently underway. The hybrid native PaaS platform supports the selection of development frameworks and application platform services. Two runtime options provide flexibility to run applications in any language, frame, or cloud. The application runtime is focused on application code that allows you to deploy application code into the cloud, while the container runtime provides more detailed control and management of containers using Kubernetes. This flexibility is also available for platform services with the Open Service Broker API, which makes it easy to integrate the services that applications need to run.

  • Hybrid native PaaS

In conformity with the government's strategic priority, which assumes also the implementation of a hybrid cloud environment, the hybrid native PaaS is a suitable tool to bridge the time till finishing the PaaS implementation in the private part of the government cloud. Hybrid native PaaS is a cloud platform with services built on the IaaS public cloud platform (Microsoft Azure) that will allow the portability of solutions to the PaaS target cloud platform of the government cloud.

  • Big data and Cloud
Big Data and Cloud technology usage is no longer something extraordinary for nowadays companies and organizations. The mix of agility, effectiveness and advantages of self-service elastic infrastructure together with the option to process vast amount of data brings new possibilities. The presentation will focus on developing category of processing Big Data in Cloud also known as Big Data as a service. Together we will look at innovations that signalize processing of Big Data and their possible usage in private or public Cloud.

  • Cloud solutions for public sector
Public sector organizations are increasingly being driven to improve operational efficiency, share information and integrate processes across operational boundaries while maintaining control over costs. Recently, cloud computing has captured significant attention as both a business model and a computing infrastructure model that enables public sector organizations to achieve these objectives. Oracle, with infrastructure capabilities and the number one commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) market share globally for enterprise software in public sector, now enhanced through the recent acquisitions of BEA Systems and Sun Microsystems, is a leader in cloud computing. This presentation outlines Oracle’s cloud computing strategies and solutions for public sector customers and partners, and articulates Oracle’s value proposition and differentiators.
