Professor Milan Dado works at the Department of Multimedia and Information and Communication Technologies, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, University of Žilina.

He has actively participated in European research and education programs (TEMPUS, COST, LEONARDO, Socrates, the 5th, 6th and 7th Framework Programs and Horizon 2020, projects of the Association of European Universities and others.)

He has managed national projects related to various areas of information and communication technologies, optical communication systems, intelligent transport systems, regional innovation strategies and e-learning.
The main milestones of his international activities were also study and research stays at foreign institutions such as a two-month residency at York University in Toronto, Northern Telecom and Bell Canada, a six-month residency at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and a six-month residency at Vienna University of Technology.

He works in education in the field of Photonic Communication Systems and Theory of Signals and Systems.
He also held several academic positions such as dean, vice-rector and rector. He was also the president of the Slovak Rectors' Conference.
