Miroslav Majoroš
Born in 1959. Obtained university education at the Faculty of Electronics and Informatics at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava and during his professional career supplemented his education through management education programmes at the Harvard Business School and Stanford Graduate School of Business. After completing his studies in 1983 he worked at the Slovak television broadcasting company, where he held several positions, in 1993 being appointed to head the company. Over the years 1998 - 2000 he was the general manager of IBM Slovakia and from 2000 to 2002 was the general manager of IBM Czech Republic and Slovakia.
He has been company President and a Member of the Board of Directors at Slovak Telekom, a. s. since 2003. In 2005 he was elected chairman of the Board of Directors and concurrently is a member of the board of directors of the subsidiary T-Mobile Slovensko, a. s. Miroslav Majoroš is a member of the board of directors and a delegate of the Association of Delegates of Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a member of the Policy Board of the Business Alliance of Slovakia, a co-chairman of the working group for regional policy and development in the National Convention on the EU in the Slovak Foreign Policy Association. He is a member of the Commission for Transport, Posts and Telecommunications and Information Society in the Parliamentary Committee for Economic Policy, and a member of the board of trustees of the IT Association of Slovakia.

Future of ICT Industry in Slovakia
It is important to consider wider aspect for ICT field development in Slovakia. We have chance not to repeat mistakes of others, but be present when new European legislation is being created. Where are the states, which we want to catch up in information society development, now? Are they in Europe? Or further – in America and Asia? Why to go round, when we can get there straightaway. How to do this?
Economists found this long time ago. However, bureaucrats do not mention this and go ahead in their cycle of keeping officers in the nature. They all want to have work also in the forthcoming five-year plan. It seems, much more work will be needed than it used to be by now …
