He works as the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic. He is the former ambassador of Slovakia in the United Kingdom and Denmark. In 2023, he was an advisor to the Prime Minister for foreign policy. He was a member of the Civic Democratic Youth. In 1994, he graduated in philosophy and sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Comenius University in Bratislava. At the Slovak Institute of International Studies, he worked as the editor-in-chief of the magazine Medzinádné otázky. From 1995 to 1998, he was the director of the SFPA research center.
