Peter Kopáč has been working at the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization since March 2022 as the general director of the Information Technology Section of the Public Administration, which is responsible for the direction of state IT in Slovakia. Before joining the civil service, he worked in public administration since 2007, initially in technical, later in managerial positions. In the past, he held the position of president of the EUNIS SK association and at his level created several cross-cutting groups that opened communication and cooperation between IT communities at universities in Slovakia. He was involved in the creation of the national academic identity federation safeID and its involvement in the worldwide eduGAIN interfederation. He studied computer science with a focus on distributed computing at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of the Comenius University in Bratislava.
