Peter Pénzeš currently serves as the Head of the Cryptoassets and Innovations Department at the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS). He played a pivotal role in establishing the Innovation Hub in 2019 and the regulatory sandbox of NBS in 2022, overseeing their operations. His efforts are dedicated to enhancing the fintech ecosystem in Slovakia.

In the past, he led various European working groups in the field of private pensions (PEP, IORP2), contributed to the development of financial consumer protection at NBS, participated in Slovakia's response to the financial crisis, and headed NBS departments responsible for crisis management and payment services and innovations.

He holds a degree in law from universities in Bratislava (SK), Norwich (UK), and Rotterdam (NL). Between 2003 and 2017, he lectured at law faculties of several universities in Bratislava.
