There has been a steady increase in the number of innovation ecosystems in Slovakia, many of which are supported by national or EU-based support schemes. However, they still lag behind in terms of digital transformation. There is limited knowledge transfer, engagement and match-making over digital means. On the other side, the best practices in the area of digital transition of such innovation ecosystems, adoption of viable processes, tools, and capacity building present a new opportunity for creating more engagement, matchmaking of the key stakeholders, knowledge dissemination, and creation of joint project consortia. Moreover, the focus on generating a societal and environmental positive impact might strengthen the position of Slovakia in the green transition of the EU towards sustainability goals.
