Róbert Sabo
Róbert Sabo is a research scientist at the Institute of Informatics, Slovak Academy of Sciences. As a member of the department of Speech Analysis and Synthesis, he focuses on research and development in the fields of speech processing, social robotics, speech databases development, speech-to-text transcription, expressive text-to-speech, and the development of dialogue systems in healthcare. In addition to its focus on scientific research, the department places strong emphasis on developing applications and applying the latest scientific innovations in practice..The department’s scientific achievements have been utilized in specific applications such as Automatic Dictation Transcription (APD) for judges in the Slovak Republic, the Early Warning of Alzheimer (EWA) application for Alzheimer's disease screening, and the READMIO application designed for parents reading stories to their children.

Diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease from Speech Using Artificial Intelligence and Social Robotics (14:10 - 14:30)
The lecture will present a targeted approach for a dialogue system employing a physical social robot in the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. It will explore the specific components of speech recognition and synthesis developed at the Institute of Informatics SAS and a tailored implementation of large language models. The lecture will include a demonstration of communication with a social robot while performing tasks aimed at diagnosing early stages of Alzheimer's disease.
