Róbert Zsembera has been involved in higher education management for many years. He graduated as a teacher of civic education and teacher of pedagogy at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava and management at the Faculty of Management of Comenius University in Bratislava. He takes up the post of State Secretary for Higher Education and Science after several years in charge of the Rector's Office at Comenius University in Bratislava, where he served as Director. At the same time, he was responsible for the coordination of activities related to crisis management at the University. He has extensive experience of working in the bodies of academic self-government. In the past, he has served as the chairman of the Commission for University Dormitories and Accommodation of the Academic Senate of Charles University, as a member of the College of the Rector of Charles University, as well as the Vice-Chairman of the Academic Senate of Charles University. During his professional career, he has actively participated in lecturing activities, development of methodologies and teaching materials for educational programmes. The Government of the Slovak Republic appointed Róbert Zsembera to the post of State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport on 26 October 2023.
